Multiply your team’s value

Instructions

  1. Be a genius maker.
Think about what talents and skills make each individual on your team unique. Start by asking yourself “In what way is this person smart?” Communicate your thoughts and encourage them to use their strengths confidently.

  2. Stretch current capabilities.
Lay down challenges that seem beyond them, while encouraging the belief that it can be done.

  3. Encourage debates when making team decisions.
Engage your team in debating issues upfront rather than simply telling them what to do later on. This way, you get them to trust their own intelligence and collaborate with one another.

  4. Instill ownership and accountability.
Hold your team members accountable for their commitments. Setting high expectations of them in this regard will, over time, drive them to hold themselves and each other accountable to higher standards, even without your direct intervention.
