Create your own time to do the things you love

Create your own time to do the things you love

from The Big Leap: Conquer Your Hidden Fear and Take Life to the Next Level by Gay Hendricks

How to Apply This

  1. Acknowledge yourself as the source of your time
Look at yourself in the mirror and say, “I acknowledge that I am the source of time” or “I am where time comes from.” This will help you take ownership of your time and how you spend it.

  2. Generate an abundance of time by questioning yourself
Ask yourself: Where in my life am I not taking full ownership? What am I trying to disown? What aspect of my life do I need to take full ownership of? If you’re not using your time wisely, these questions will reveal to you the obvious ways you’ve been wasting time.

  3. Abstain from complaining about time
Once you acknowledge yourself as the source of time, start acting as if it’s true. Avoid statements such as “I don’t have time to do that right now,” “Where did the time go?” or “I have to get to the bank…” Instead, of saying “I don’t have time to talk to you right now,” you can say “I want to finish what I’m working on before I can join you.” Eliminate all statements that portray you as a victim or slave of time.
