Brand Storytelling
Branding
Create a brand story concept that will land with your audience
from Brand Storytelling: Put Customers at the Heart of Your Brand Story by Miri Rodriguez
How to Apply This
- Find your stories' universal truth to empathize with your audience.
Describe what core human needs your brand reflects within your audience. Examples include belonging, self-acceptance, confidence, exclusiveness, happiness, etc. - Define your character and the plot of your story.
Who are your story characters, and what happens to them? - Brainstorm as many story concepts as possible.
Keep your brainstorming session creative and imaginative so that ideas flow. Sketch, mindmap, or use any other creative mediums to create story concepts. - Prototype your story concepts.
To determine what works and what doesn't, evaluate story concepts by asking yourself the following four questions: What is the central theme of this story? What are the benefits to the stakeholders, and what needs does it cover? How can the story be executed? How does this story serve the business? - Test your story concepts.
If one of the stories evokes the emotions in your audience that you were trying to convey, that story is a success. But if the story didn’t land well, simply test out another concept.
