Consider the full situation before making a decision to act

Instructions

  1. When someone asks you to do or take part in something, answer these questions for yourself:

  2. What is it?
    What should you exactly do?

  3. Why does it matter?

  4. Do I need it?

  5. Do I want it?

  6. What are the hidden costs?
Think about the things they didn’t tell you but could be there. For example, it could be longer than what they said.

  7. Will I look back from the distant future and be glad I did it?

  8. If I never knew about it at all, would I even notice that I missed out?
If the request was lost in the mail, if they hadn’t been able to pin me down to ask me.
