Calculate with sleep cycles for a more refreshing sleep

Instructions

  1. Get to bed within a few hours of it getting dark outside.
The 10 pm recommended bedtime isn’t always exact due to the variations in time zones, daylight savings time, how far you are from the equator, time of year, etc.

  2. Go through your full sleep cycle.
Set your alarm so that it goes off following the 90-min sleep cycles instead of the standard “eight hours of sleep.” For example, if you go to sleep at 10 pm, set your alarm for 5:30 am (for a total of seven and a half hours of sleep).
