Use your mediocrity to your advantage

Instructions

  1. Use procrastination as a warning signal
If you’re feeling lazy, consider it a sign of your body telling you to slow down a bit, take a break or think about your next steps. It could mean that you should take more time to think about what you’re about to pitch to a client. It may also mean that the work you’re doing is not your forte and you should delegate the task. Or, it could mean you should do more research about the idea you have before implementing it.

  2. Singletask, don’t multitask.
You can also decide to take some time to relax and not do anything at all. Stillness and silence can be great triggers for creativity.

  3. Accept failure and learn how to deal with it
If failure is inevitable, learn how to overcome and learn from it. Mediocre entrepreneurs fail a lot, so study your past failures and develop the perseverance necessary to carry you to success.

  4. Accept your imperfections instead of allowing them to stunt your growth
Perfectionism is a dangerous mindset to have because it pushes you to want to control everything around you. Learn to surrender and say, “This is a bad situation but good things will happen sooner or later.” Take note of your thoughts without judging yourself harshly. Ask yourself why you feel the way you do and then let go of that negative emotion.

  5. Use your poor judgment to better understand the people around you
If you’re a poor judge of people, take your time to study others before deciding whether to trust them or not. Spend more time listening to them carefully to understand their motivations, especially if you want to bring them into your inner circle. This can help you to avoid trusting the wrong people.
