Use the Progressive Summarization technique to distill notes

Instructions

  1. Capture your notes.
    Extract a few essential passages from the source you’re reading.

  2. Bold the most important parts of your captured notes.
    Read the selected text, then bold a few paragraphs or sentences you consider crucial such as keywords and phrases.

  3. Highlight the most important parts from the bolded text.
    Look at what you bolded, and then highlight what stands out as the most important in that text.

  4. Create your summary.
    Read what you bolded and highlighted, then write a summary in your own words. Keep it short; a few points is enough.
