Take on resistance with ease

Instructions

  1. Acknowledge their resistance and articulate it to put the other at ease.
Whenever you feel resistance from someone, try saying things like, "You might think I'm too young to be a manager" or "I understand it’s a lot of money."
  2. Ask before you ask.
Don’t jump right into asking if you feel that this person may resist you; instead, ask them if it’s okay to ask about something at a later time.
  3. Affirm their freedom of choice.
Let others know that you’re not trying to pressure them and that it’s their decision at the end of the day.
