Take care of yourself so you can face the world head-on.

If you follow the above steps, you will begin to feel and radiate self-confidence. Not only will others notice and treat you with respect and positivity, but you will also feel much better about yourself.

Instructions

  1. Wake up at the same time every day.
It is not necessary that you go to bed at the same time every night, but having a set time to wake up in the morning will help improve symptoms of depression and anxiety. This is because the regulation of your emotions is linked to your circadian rhythm.

  2. Eat breakfast every day.
A fat and protein heavy breakfast are the best, as carbohydrates can cause a rapid spike and dip in your blood sugar. If you skip breakfast altogether, you may notice yourself becoming psycho-physiologically unstable (i.e. you will be tired, groggy, and unable to think clearly). Furthermore, your system will only reset after you get some sleep.

  3. Refrain from activities that cause a cycle of positive feedback and interfere with your happiness and productivity.
One example of an activity like this is alcoholism - being drunk feels great but being hungover the next day doesn’t, and yet, despite the hangover, you may feel like having another drink, and so on. Another example is the feelings of uselessness that many people with depression experience. They feel like a burden on those close to them so they withdraw into themselves, however, this only amplifies their depression. Once you notice an activity that is detrimental to your well-being, take steps to avoid engaging in it.

  4. Accept the responsibility of life.
Stand up straight, physically. Then, stand up straight metaphysically - that is, commit to accepting life as it is, and to facing whatever problems come your way.
