Stay positive!

Instructions

  1. Start journaling.
Keep track of your thoughts while doing daily tasks, driving, walking your dog, driving, etc. Record as many random ideas, pictures, and phrases as you can think of during the day, and try to spot negative thinking patterns.

  2. Reframe your negative thoughts into positive ones instead of controlling them.
Take negative thoughts and try to reframe them into positive ones. For example, change the negative thought "I'm not good enough" to "I'm fine exactly the way I am."

  3. Be mindful of how social media and TV impact you.
Consider how social media and TV affect your emotions and thoughts. It's easy to start judging yourself by the standards of others on social media if you spend a lot of time there. This may lead to depressive thinking, such as the belief that you aren't competent, attractive, physically fit, courageous, wealthy, or loved.

  4. Begin your day positively.
Create a positive morning routine. One good example is starting your day with a glass of water, meditation, or yoga and writing down encouraging thoughts.
