Stay motivated about restricting your calorie intake for fat loss by tracking your process

The most important information you need to know to achieve fat loss is understanding how much energy and calories you need per day. Track the process of your fat loss by taking photos to see how far you have come.

Instructions

  1. Find out how many calories you need per day to lose body fat
Find out how many calories you need based on your weight, height, age and level of activity. MyFitnessPal is a great tool for this - not only will it help you count calories, it will enable you to track the nutritional levels of your everyday diet.

  2. Remind yourself of how much more energy you have to stay motivated
A lot of people feel their self-esteem and self-worth is dependent on their weight or fat percentage. However, this makes it difficult to stay motivated, especially when progress is slow. Focusing on how you feel and how much more energy you have is a much more effective motivational tool.

  3. Track your process by taking pictures
Taking pictures is a reliable way for you to visually track your progress. Take the photos during the same time of the day, in the same location, with the same lighting and aim to have similar levels of hydration. You could also ask someone else to see if they notice a change.
