Set and achieve goals

Instructions

  1. Set specific and realistic goals.
Instead of saying, “I'm gonna get up and run a little while, then lift some weights.” say, “I'll run two miles every day, work with a trainer to create an optimal strength training routine for five days a week, and I'll change my diet to a lean protein and plant-based menu.”
  2. Understand your “why.”
Have a specific and simple reason for your goal. For example, Instead of saying, “I want to meditate because it’s good for my health,” you can say, “I want to meditate because I have people that need me, and I can savor life and avoid the most common regrets.”
  3. Set standards.
Be measured and transparent with yourself when developing your standards. Start at a place that makes sense for you, and then upgrade your standards once you make progress.
  4. Get help in areas where you're weak.
If you are struggling to understand or do something, ask for help. For example, If you cannot exercise consistently, find yourself a workout body that will hold you accountable to your goal.
  5. Repeat your goals.
You can use tools such as affirmations, visualization, and vision boards to reinforce repetition and work on your goals at a fixed time every day.
