Redefine your past and regrets

Instructions

  1. Practice after-action review.
    Answer the following questions:

    • How did you perceive the previous year?
    • What were your intentions, ambitions, and specific goals?
    • What difficulties or regrets did you experience during the last year?
    • What do you think you should have been honored for but weren't?
    • What were your proudest successes during the last year?
    • What were the top two or three recurring themes?
    • What were the most important life lessons you learned in the past year?
  2. Look for the opportunity behind your regret.
Write down one regret you have in the past that you find difficult to let go of. Then, think about the opportunities that your regret could possibly bring you in the present and in the future.

  3. Practice gratitude.
Start and end each day with prayer. Express your gratitude for the gifts you have received. Write a gratitude journal. Choose something positive in your life and consider what your life would be like without it.
