Realize your goals

Instructions

  1. Write down your most important goal.

  2. Break your goal down into small achievable steps.
What is the simplest task you can start quickly to gain momentum and progress?

  3. Use activation triggers.
First, identify the one trigger that will set you up for success. Then, optimize that trigger through the following ways:

    • Eliminate temptations. For example, if your goal is to eat healthily, eliminate junk food from the refrigerator.
    • Automate triggers using technology. For example, setting up an automated deposit to your savings account if you want to save money.
    • Delegate. For example, hiring an assistant to schedule appointments.
  4. Plan your response to potential obstacles.
Identify any challenges that may prevent you from achieving your ultimate goal, and then clarify how you intend to overcome them. Also, make changes to your activation triggers if necessary. Sometimes all it takes is a little adjustment.

  5. Review your goals regularly.
Make daily and weekly reviews of your goal. Review all the actions you did in the past, and then write down the three most important future actions to advance toward your goals.
