Practice conversation without “but”
It’s very hard to overcome resistance. It is much easier to convince someone by building agreement and rapport.
- Find a person with whom you can debate. Then choose a topic and take opposite sides.
It would be best if both of you really believe in the corresponding idea.
- “Argue” together using the skills described in the habit: Words and phrases that create rapport.
Remember not to denigrate the other’s point of view, instead strive to find commonality.
