Practice conversation without “but”
It’s very hard to overcome resistance. It is much easier to convince someone by building agreement and rapport.
Find a person with whom you can debate. Then choose a topic and take opposite sides.
It would be best if both of you really believe in the corresponding idea.

Remember not to denigrate the other’s point of view, instead strive to find commonality.
