Identify people you don't know well.
Think of people you have met or are connected to somehow but don't currently know well. These could be coworkers you rarely talk with or a neighbor you only say hello to. List these people down.
Reach out to them.
Reach out to these people through emails, phone calls, or social media. Ask them about their experiences and interests. Remember to use elaborated speech when communicating with them. This requires more organization and reflection.
Be open to new possibilities.
Weak ties can provide access to new opportunities and information. Be open to new ideas and experiences!
Maintain the connection.
Stay in touch with weak ties and build relationships with them. This will help you to stay connected with new opportunities.
