Identify your organization's WIGs
from The 4 Disciplines of Execution: Achieving Your Wildly Important Goals by Chris McChesney, Sean Covey & Jim Huling
How to Apply This
- Uncover your organization's WIGs. Reflect on the organization you are part of and the role of your team within it. There are three questions you may ask your team to help uncover the WIG: What is the most important thing we should be working on? What is the most important thing we should be working on that we are not currently working on? What is the most important thing we should stop working on? Remember to limit your WIGs to only 1-2 items.
- Gather input from the team.
Involve the team in selecting the WIG to increase their sense of ownership. - Keep the WIG simple and focused on what, not how.
- Take action to achieve your WIGs.
Focus on the goals you identified and devote your time and energy to them. - Track your progress.
Monitor your progress and adjust your strategies to accomplish your goals as needed.
