Master self-management

  1. Set goals.
What are your most important goals in life? Why do you want to achieve them? Write these goals down.
  2. Identify your emotions.
Every time you have to make an important decision, make sure to take a moment to pause first and identify what you are feeling. This will help you to understand the situation better and make better decisions.
  3. Practice self-control.
Practice self-control by resisting the urge to react impulsively and instead take the time to think through the situation.
  4. Stay focused.
Stay focused on your goals, and don't let momentary needs get in the way of achieving them.
  5. Be patient.
Be patient with yourself and others. Real results come from putting your needs on hold and continually managing your tendencies.
