Master the clean fast

Instructions

  1. Do not eat anything during your fasting period.
    The most important thing is that you don’t eat any food at all. People mistakenly think that the point of fasting is simply to eat fewer calories, so a tiny bit of food won’t hurt. However, the purpose is to prevent insulin release and make your body switch to ketosis. Even one tiny taste of food will stop this from happening, and you won’t see results.
  2. Only drink plain water, black tea, and black coffee.
    The same is true when drinking liquids. Even zero-calorie options will make your body think you are eating and cause insulin release if they have a flavor to them. So, stick to plain water without flavoring or black tea and coffee. Don’t drink flavored coffee or fruit tea, either.
  3. Maintain the clean fast on a fasting schedule.
    Once you have mastered the clean fast, you must maintain it on a fasting schedule. This could be an eating window approach where you only eat between certain hours each day. You can also do up and down days where you fast one day and eat the next. It will take at least a month of maintaining this fasting schedule before your body starts using stored fat, and fasting becomes easier, so consistency is crucial!
