Make your events visible on social media

Instructions

  1. Choose a short, catchy, generic, evergreen hashtag that is easy to remember. For example, #MotoX.

  2. Include a hashtag in everything.
Put it on your website, in your advertising, e-mail signature, introductory slides regarding the presentation, etc. Everybody should know what the hashtag is.

  3. Ask people to use the hashtag.
Be direct and ask all those people to use your hashtag and share posts. Your audience is everybody, not just people at conferences, so try to address more people while tweeting.

  4. Find a person to focus only on social media activities.
They should share posts to raise awareness of your event, tweet about what’s happening, take pictures of guests, upload them, and reshare other people's posts about the event.

  5. Provide a live stream or update in real-time.
It’s important that people from remote areas can see your event and write about it. You need to raise event attendance. On the other hand, real-time updates are cheaper and easier, so it’s a way to promote your event as well.

  6. Display the Twitter stream.
It encourages interaction and more use of your hashtag.

  7. Set up a place for taking photos.
You need good light and background with your hashtag on it.

  8. Hire a professional photographer,
Take pictures with everyone. Send them an e-mail later, so they know where to download the pictures, and kindly ask them to share those with the name of your hashtag.

  9. Make your executives pose with attendees.
Most of those pictures will eventually be shared.

  10. Let everyone know about the event.
Share pictures and videos on every possible platform.  Try to make those who attended see them and reshare, so more people will see it.
