Make time to handle your daily highlights efficiently

Instructions

  1. Design your entire day.
When you plan each day by the hour, you will be able to make time for your highlights effortlessly.

  2. Schedule your daily highlight.
Put it on your calendar for a time your energy is usually highest.

  3. Block your calendar, especially if you work in an office where colleagues can add meetings to your calendar.
Indicate the period of your highlight in your calendar, so that your colleagues won’t demand your attention.

  4. Reschedule meetings to make time for your highlight.
Tell your colleagues something important came up and ask them if they could meet a little earlier or later or for a quick chat instead of meeting for an hour.

  5. Forgo other important things to make time for your highlight.
Cancel activities, skip meetings, push back a deadline or ditch your plans with a friend if you need to.

  6. Say NO to others in a polite way.
For example, say “Sorry, I’m really busy with some big projects and I don’t have time for anything new”. The best way to get out of low-priority obligations is never to accept them in the first place.
