Maintain a rational rather than an emotional mindset to gain allies and pacify your enemies

Instructions

  1. Let your work speak for you instead of counter-attacking your foes
Even if you’re publicly attacked, privately approach the other person for a one-on-one meeting. Keep the spotlight on the merits of your work rather than engaging in negative office politics.

  2. See yourself through the eyes of others
Identify what you may have done to trigger negative situations. Then, approach some of your trusted peers and ask them to give you their honest criticism of your strengths and weaknesses. Once you’ve seen yourself through their eyes, thank them for their insight and use the feedback to correct your flaws.

  3. Accept that life is full of fools and you don’t have to lower yourself to their level
Examine your own flaws and then accept the flaws in them. When someone acts foolishly, smile and tolerate them as you would a child. Instead of arguing with them, focus on your goals and if possible, use their actions to your advantage.
