Increase your awareness of body language
from Improve Your Social Skills by Daniel Wendler
How to Apply This
-
Look at the body language signals of the other party to find out if they are comfortable or uncomfortable.
If they are comfortable, relax, if they are uncomfortable, figure out what is wrong and fix it. -
Look at the context to understand what is causing the other person to feel comfortable or uncomfortable.
For example, if your partner’s body language changed when you asked a specific question, perhaps there is something about that question that made them uncomfortable. -
Pay attention to the messages your body is sending.
Be aware of what your body is communicating. This will help you make sure that your body and your words are sending the same message.
