Identify your primal inclinations and accept yourself as you are.

Instructions

  1. Remember your childhood passion and reconnect to it
Recall that one thing that you loved doing when you were a child. If you loved watching dance videos and felt alive mimicking the moves, then maybe your career lies in the performance arts. If you were obsessed with the equipment in the school lab, then your niche may be in the sciences. Your childhood joys and obsessions are usually indicators of your ideal future vocation.

  2. Embrace your weirdness as it may lead you to your unique niche
If you have a unique passion such as collecting strange sea shells and reading about them, don’t suppress it just to fit in. Instead, keep studying the different types of shells that you can find. Get your hands on all the books you can find about shells and what makes them special. You can create a unique career that corresponds to your interests, such as studying strange phenomena around the world. Since it’s a unique career, you won’t have as much competition and you can become the go-to expert in that field.

  3. Be courageous enough to follow your heart even if it means disappointing your parents
For example, you come from a family of lawyers and your father insists that you must go to law school. However, you’ve told him that you prefer to pursue your love for painting. If you truly see painting beautiful works of art as a lifelong career, then go for it. Start developing your skills in painting and show your parents that you’re committed to it. If they refuse to accept your decision, stand your ground and follow your heart to achieve your destiny.
