Identify potential team members and their roles

Instructions

  1. Identify your supporters
Find people who are reliable and care about your life. Look for individuals who encourage you and offer valuable feedback. Though they can be your friends, sometimes they can also be people you don’t normally hang out with.
  2. Identify your life players
These are individuals who actively participate in helping design your life. They take action with you.
  3. Identify your intimates
These can be close family members and friends who are directly affected by your life design. Involve them from the beginning of your life design process but ensure that their advice is objective, not selfish.
  4. Identify your team
These are individuals who can help you stay on track with your life goals. You can use your Odyssey Plan brainstorming group as your team. Keep the number between 3 to 5 people so that you can have a diversity of opinions while also ensuring adequate time for everyone to speak.
  5. Find good mentors
Find a good mentor who offers counsel rather than advice. A good mentor provides counsel by asking lots of questions to better understand you and what you’re going through. They ask the same question from different perspectives. They summarize what you’ve already said to ensure they’ve understood. Avoid the type of mentor who only wants to tell you what to do without understanding your unique situation.
