Follow the basic principles of fasting


  1. Keep your goal in mind.
    Is your objective to lose weight or to stay healthy? You can have any objective but you can only achieve them if you are focused and disciplined.
  2. Avoid telling people you are fasting.
    Some people may try to discourage you.
  3. Fit fasting to your life, rather than changing your life to fit fasting.
    Instead of limiting yourself socially, you can change your fasting schedule to fit your life. For example, you could avoid fasting during vacations, weddings or Christmas.
  4. Get so busy during your fast so that you barely realize you are hungry.
  5. Follow a nutritious diet on non-fasting days.
    When you aren’t fasting, opt for nutritious diets that are low in sugars and refined carbohydrates. This will help keep you in good health.
  6. Give yourself time to get used to fasting.
    The truth is that the first few times will be difficult, but it gets easier as time goes by.
  7. Proceed with your regular exercises while you are fasting
    However, listen to your body and do them in moderation. Don’t take on more than you can handle.
