Find ways to get in touch with your feelings

Instructions

  1. Meditate for twenty minutes.
Spending a few minutes at the end of the day sitting in a chair and asking yourself what you are feeling at that moment can help you realize how well you are connected with your own emotions.
  2. Let go of the need to understand everything.
Even if sometimes it is useful to analyze your emotions, often it is nice to let yourself experience them without necessarily finding a reason behind their existence. Not every emotion has to have an explanation. Often, emotions cannot be transposed verbally. You simply have to accept them.
  3. Talk to other people about what you're feeling.
Many emotions are driven by relationships with other people - social emotions - such as love, anger, disappointment, shame, guilt, and pride. You will fulfill your emotional needs deeper through your openness to others.
  4. Find ways to express your emotions creatively.
Expressing emotions can be done through activities such as music, dancing, writing, photography, painting, or anything else you are passionate about. Art often allows you to express your feelings in a way that you cannot do verbally.
