    During this ten minutes, think about your long-term goal that will be affected if you indulge in your temptation. If after 10 minutes you still want it, you can have it.
  2. Imagine your long-term goal as if you have already achieved it.
    Picture your future self with the benefits of having achieved your long-term goal.
  3. Consider if you are willing to give up that long-term goal for the short-lived indulgence.
