Engage hidden influencers to accelerate culture change

Instructions

  1. Identify the hidden influencers and energizers.
    Conduct an organizational network analysis (ONA) to illuminate indispensable employees. This may be through a simple survey or the analysis of interactions on internal communication platforms like email, Slack, Teams, etc. The goal is to track and map the company’s flow of information, collaboration, and expertise to see who’s at the “center of the beehive.”
  2. Listen to their perspective.
    These people have the influence to promote the culture renovation throughout the company, but they won’t be as helpful if they feel you’re not considering their own points of view.
  3. Enlist them as “culture ambassadors” to champion change initiatives.
    Since they’re already leading informally within the organization, give them formal titles and responsibilities to bolster their efforts, widen their spheres of influence, and speed up the change process.
