Dark-green, leafy vegetables are the healthiest foods on the planet. They have the highest level of nutrition per calorie. Greens have many good properties such as being an antioxidant, antimutagenic, and antitumor. Almost all fruits, before they ripen are green. This means that greens provide the entire spectrum of colors hidden inside of them.
How to Apply This
Examples: Rocket, beetroot greens, collard greens, kale, mesclun mix, mustard greens, spinach, swiss chard, turnip greens.
Daily recommendation: 2 servings per day
Serving size:
- 60g raw
- 90g cooked
Note: The only green to avoid is alfalfa sprouts, as it’s linked to salmonella.
