Don’t buy into the idea of “having it all.”

The phrase “having it all” is meant to inspire, but all it really does is make you feel like you have fallen short. As a professional working woman, you will have to accept that you can’t do it all. You can’t have a full-time job, have perfect children, cook three meals a day, etc. It’s just not possible. Trying to achieve perfection will only make you feel like a failure in the long run.

Instructions

  1. Understand that it is not possible to have it all.
You simply do not have enough time to spend perfecting every single aspect of your life. This is not to say that you shouldn’t aim for success in your personal and professional life—you absolutely should. Just remember that you do have real limits, and plan realistic goals with those limits in mind.

  2. Find a balance between your personal and professional life, and you will realize that you don’t need to achieve perfection to achieve success.
It is perfectly acceptable to let some things slip through the cracks, as long as the important things get done. For example, make sure you get home at a reasonable hour and don’t worry about whether the closets are tidy.
