Develop good writing habits

Instructions

  1. Read books regularly.
List down all the low-quality books you want to read so that you can learn what and how you shouldn’t write. Similarly, list all the good books to learn more about how you should write. Make it a habit to read at least one hour a day. Consider the writing style, story development, character development, narration, and other elements as you read books.

  2. Write every day.
Write every day. Find your place for writing where you can isolate yourself and in which there are no TVs, phones, and other electronic distractions. Set your table away from the windows. Determine how many words you want to write daily and set a fixed time when you want to write every day.

  3. Create authentic and believable characters.
Make sure your characters think and behave like people in real life. Instead of shaping the character's behavior according to the course of the story, consider how the real person would act in a given situation where your character is and shape the story towards it.
