  1. Be aware of everything you have and your desire to want more.
    There is no known cure for the ills of ownership. Everywhere around us, we see the temptation to improve the quality of our lives by buying a larger home, a second car, and so on. But, once we change our possessions, it’s hard to go back down. Ownership simply changes our perspective.
  2. Try to view all transactions objectively (especially large ones).
    As if you were a nonowner, putting some distance between yourself and the item of interest. In this attempt, you can increase your uninterest in material things.
