Feeling discomfort is not as bad as feeling negative about your feelings. Feeling bad from time to time is okay, and it’s important to accept it.

Instructions

The next time uncomfortable emotions are bothering you, do this:

  1. Remind yourself that our emotions come from our natural instincts, and they are normal. You will experience them now and then.
  2. Accept them as a normal thing that’s happening to you.
  3. Remind yourself that even famous people you admire have to go through the same emotions.
  4. Remember that many people in the world are having the same feelings at this very moment; you are not alone.

I would go as far to say, 'normalise discomfort', and expose yourself to this as much as possible. I remember someone telling me they love reading so much because they could have as many failures and as many successes as the people in the podcast, documentaries, biographies and learn from them. Similarly you could walk through the discomfort of those people with them
