Cultivate gratitude, contentment, and acceptance

Instructions

  1. Spend some time every day immersed in the present moment.
    Use a practice like mindfulness or walking meditation, prayer, breathwork, or simple awareness of yourself and your surroundings.

  2. Practice contentment and acceptance.
    Accept how the way things are, at least for a short time every day. Remember that one powerful way to be happier is simply to want less.

  3. Create a daily practice of gratitude that feels authentic to you.
    You could adopt a practice of giving thanks when you eat, when you first wake up in the morning, before going to bed in the evening, or some other time of day.

  4. Approach the world as an artist or poet.
    Look for beauty and inspiration wherever you go—if you like, take photos or create drawings and share your vision with others.
