Create a monthly tabulation of your income and expenses

Instructions

  1. Determine your actual costs in both time and money.
Examine the categories you pay in time or money to work at your job. Calculate your time in hours and the amount of actual money it costs.
  2. Find your real hourly wage.
Create a table with two columns. Label these columns “Time” and “Money.” List your categories in each row and add the cost in time or money in the appropriate column.
  3. Total your time- and money spent.
Add the sum of your time spent to your normal work week hours. Subtract your expenses from your regular pay.
  4. Track how much money you spend and receive for the next 30 days.
Use a notebook or spreadsheet to keep track of the money you receive from income, gifts, etc., and money you spend on bills, groceries, entertainment, etc.
