Create a game-changing vision for your organization

Instructions

  1. Find and amplify the intersections.
Look for where different aspects of our business and the market intersect. You can broaden your company's purpose from meeting specific needs, like making and selling a product, to meeting broader needs like enabling people to create their own products using yours.
  2. Make it about more than money.
Remember that profits are an outcome of fulfilling your vision, so focus obsessively on meeting your customers’ needs and watch the profits follow!
  3. Look back to look forward.
Changing the game doesn’t necessarily mean creating a vision that departs from the company’s heritage. Dig back into the company’s history to find out what originally made it successful, and then take that central idea and expand it in ways that open new opportunities.
  4. Involve a broad group of leaders in the process.
People support what they help create, so find ways to include your employees when setting your vision. Doing so will build a broad sense of ownership in them.
