Categorize your entries into tasks, events, and notes

from The Bullet Journal Method: Track the Past, Order the Present, Design the Future by Ryder Carroll

How to Apply This

  1. Think about the category of each entry - is it a task, event, or note?
If it’s something to be done, it’s a task. If it’s an experience, it’s an event. If its additional information about something you don’t want to forget, it’s a note.

  2. Assign different bullets depending on the status of the task
Use different bullets for tasks that have been set, completed, rescheduled, etc.

  3. Use an empty bullet for experiences
This bullet looks like the letter “o.”

  4. Use a dash for notes
The dash (—) can be used to distinguish between tasks, experiences, and notes.
