Build your social media presence

Instructions

  1. Join social media today.
It’s alright if you can’t join all the social media platforms.

  2. Use social media applications such as TweetDeck, Hootsuite, and UberTwitter to manage your activities.
Using a desktop application such as TweetDeck or Hootsuite sorts your activity in columns and allows you to manage your presence on multiple sites. Applications such as UberTwitter enable you to keep up with social media at all times.

  3. Tell your customers that they matter.
The worst thing you can do is to show people you are listening to some and not others. Respond to each person yourself - don’t rely on automated responses.

  4. Spread your time span.
Consistency breeds familiarity, which creates relationships. Even if you can only spare a small amount of time each day, regular and brief engagement is better than keeping it occasional but lengthy.

  5. Follow people based on interest.

  6. Spread the pride of others too.
Retweet, comment, and share their accomplishments.

  7. Stay away from trolls.
You’ll also come across internet trolls, who post controversial, inflammatory, irrelevant, or off-topic messages in online communities. Don’t feed the trolls, don’t expose them, pick who gets your emotional currency, and realize where they’re aiming.

  8. Provide constructive criticism.
Constructive criticism is one thing, being a jerk is another.
