Become better at managing failures by forgetting your ego

Become better at managing failures by forgetting your ego

from Tao Te Ching by Lao Tzu

How to Apply This

  1. Perceive every trying situation as it was you who send it for yourself
If someone’s behavior triggers you think of the situation if it was your own spell. Think of it if you wanted that person to annoy you. And you had your reason—because you have not mastered that trait fully yet. Patient, selfless, giving, calm.

  2. Spot your failure
Maybe you think you were right. And your friend, colleague, or relative who is crying now or has been hurt so much is the one who was wrong. Are you sure about it? Or is it your ego who wants to think about it that way? Examine the situation over. This will also increase your self-awareness and you will be able to spot these things while they happen, not after they happened.

  3. Accept your own failure
It will be hard because it will hurt your ego. But again, if something is hurt, something is strengthened. If your ego is hurt, your soul is strengthened.
