Become aware of your emotional attachments

Instructions

  1. Observe something or someone to which you are emotionally attached.
    Think of something or someone who you believe you will be unhappy without. It could be your job, career, profession, partner, friend, money, belief, or anything else.

  2. Emotionally detach from that person/object/belief.
    Say or write something like: "I don't need you to be happy. I'm simply fooling myself, thinking I won't be happy without you. But I don't need you to be happy; I can be without you. You are neither my happiness nor my delight."
