  2. Listen and observe.

  3. Acknowledge people.
    Awards, plaques, and verbal or written acknowledgments are good ways of recognizing people.
  4. Accept your mistakes.
    Be honest with your team. When you make a mistake, acknowledge it and use it to improve.
  5. Be compassionate.
    When people you’re leading with have made a mistake, try to understand it from their perspective. Let them know mistakes happen; what’s important is they fix them as soon as possible.
  6. Equip your team with proper resources.
    Provide your team with resources such as training, coaching, supplies, and ample budget, and take steps whenever any employee needs certainty, recognition, and growth opportunities.
  7. Create a healthy culture.
    Your should mission, goals, and expectations must be clearly defined, and people in your team should be able to openly express their opinions without fear.
