Become a Feedback Magnet—Not a Feedback Avoider
Instructions
-
Review your past week for feedback moments. List times you gave or received feedback. Was it mostly vague praise, criticism, or silence?
-
Ask for feedback on a specific action. Pick a recent task—an email, a project, a family dinner. Ask someone for their honest opinion and what specifically worked or could be improved.
-
Practice the SBI(I) model on someone else. Describe the Situation, specific Behavior you observed, the Impact it had on you, and (optionally) ask about their Intent. Focus on observable facts, not judgments.
-
Celebrate one thing specifically that went well. Praise yourself or someone else for a clear, specific contribution, explaining why it mattered.
