Apply the five-step permission marketing approach to develop lifetime customers


  1. Offer the prospect an incentive to volunteer.
    The incentive needs to be overt, obvious and clearly delivered. Examples include information, entertainment, a lottery ticket, or outright payment. 
  2.   Using the attention offered by the prospect, offer a curriculum over time,teaching the consumer about your product or service.
    Focus on your product benefits and how they help your prospect.
  3. Reinforce the incentive to ensure the prospect maintains the permission.
    Fine-tune the incentives offered to each prospect by keeping an open, two-way dialogue as they are likely to be tired of repeated incentives. 
  4. Offer additional incentives to get even more permission from the consumer.
    Encourage the consumer to give more permission over time by offering new product categories or providing samples. 
  5. Leverage the permission to change consumer behavior toward profits.
    Now that you have the customer's attention, you can leverage your permission to ensure profitable solutions.
