Accept luck as a factor of success

  1. Accept that not all success is due to hard work
Keep in mind that luck and risk also play a role in a person’s success.
  2. Judge people’s success and failures objectively
Try gathering as much information about a person’s professional success before deciding to praise or disapprove of somebody.
  3. Study broad patterns of success and failure
Not everyone is Bill Gates or Steve Jobs, so focus on more common examples of success and failure, rather than on extremes.
