The Chimp Paradox

How to Apply This

  1. Get to know the characteristics of your ideal personality
On a sheet of paper, write down your ideal personality. Ask yourself, “What kind of personality would I like to have?”

  2. Identify your current personality traits
On the second sheet of paper, write down your perception of your personality. Be completely honest with yourself.

  3. Get a second opinion on your personality
Talk to a close friend and ask them to describe your personality traits. Write down their opinion on another sheet of paper.

  4. Compare the 3 sheets of paper
Read through the 3 sheets of paper and perform a comparison to identify the Gremlins and Chimp behaviors in your personality.

  5. Start removing the Gremlins and managing the Chimp
Use the tips previously given in the previous chapters to eliminate the Gremlins in your personality and manage your Chimp.
