How to Apply This
- Triage your schedule.
Ask yourself whether your appointments and obligations correspond to Life Account priorities. If so, schedule them. If not, reschedule or cancel them. Eliminate all nonessentials from your calendar and reschedule some of what remains. - Write your “ideal week” plan.
Define priorities. Organize time and actions for each theme (Life Account). Let’s use a health theme as an example; Monday might be devoted to meal prep, Tuesday to lower body workouts, Wednesday to cardio, etc. Next, divide each day into time blocks with a different focus. For example, the morning would be dedicated to the health area, the afternoon to work, and the evening to family and friends areas of life. - Reject non-priority requests.
Use the “positive no” technique to decline unnecessary requests. Say “yes” to your priorities, then politely refuse the request but give the person another option or tell them how to get what they want another way.
