Your Money or Your Life
General money management
Create a financial wall graph
from Your Money or Your Life by Joe Dominguez, Vicki Robin
How to Apply This
- Gather your supplies.
You will need some graph paper that measures 18-inches by 22-inches or 24-inches by 36-inches. You will also need three pens: one black and two other colors you prefer. - Create your wall graph.
Mark your graph's left side, or vertical axis, with dollar amounts starting with zero at the bottom. Allow space for your income to double at the top. Then, label your graph’s bottom, or horizontal axis, with the months of the year, for a total of 5-10 years. - Plot your figures.
At the end of each month, plot your income and expenses with a dot using two different colored pens. - Connect the dots.
Draw a line to connect the points from the current month to the prior month.
