Understand that value is subjective.

To better understand people, you must understand their psychological state.

  1. Do not assume that the value of an object is the same for every single person on earth.
Take a simple example of $1 million. If you were to change the balance in a poor person’s bank account to $1 million, he would be thrilled. On the other hand, if you were to change a billionaire’s bank account to $1 million, he would be extremely upset.
  2. Consider someone’s psychological state before assuming what the value of an object is to them.
Are they rich or poor? How much do they need the object?
