Tailor your digital media use to bring you more benefits.

Optimizing your apps helps you decrease the amount of time you use your phone. It also helps you find alternatives to use your apps in ways that are more beneficial for you.

  1. Optimize the apps that you choose.
For example, if you have a habit of keeping up to date on news, use an app that provides you with news instead of a social media account where you get your news along with other unnecessary information. This reduces the amount of time you spend on your phone.
  2. Find ways to limit the amount of screen time you use.
Be creative in limiting the amount of screen time you consume. For example, delete social media apps on your phone so that you only use them on a computer. Or choose to only stream movies or TV series with a friend to help prevent binging.

Personally, I love having my phone on Do Not Disturb, and custom controls on which apps can use badges, notifications etc and even which Whatapp conversations are muted. Sometimes, being seeming useless with a phone is an adventage and gives you the space to respond what the time is right for you.
